Elder and Sister Gilchrist. Sister Gilchrists grandfather was the Stonecutter. Maybe you have seen the video about him. He was the one who carved Holiness to the Lord over the doorway of the Salt Lake Temple. He lived in Alpine and walked to Salt Lake City to carve the stone for the Temple. He lost a leg so he made a wooden leg and continued to walk to SLC from Alpine to finish the work on the Temple. Sister Gilchrist told us this story when it was her turn to do the FHE. Wonderful people. They too are military and one of the 5 regular couples at our FHE. All these people have great pioneer heritage, especially President and Sister Dalton. Then there is Mom and Dad with not a lot of previous members of the church in our genealogy.
